- Trump publicly withdrew his endorsement of Marjorie Taylor Greene, calling her a "ranting lunatic" and pledging to back a 2026 primary challenger.
- Greene pushed for releasing Jeffrey Epstein files, framing the fight as transparency versus party priorities, deepening MAGA divisions.
In a stunning turn of events that’s sending shockwaves through the Republican Party, President Donald Trump has publicly withdrawn his endorsement of Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, calling her a “ranting lunatic” and vowing to back any conservative challenger in her 2026 primary.
This move, announced via Truth Social, highlights growing tensions within the MAGA movement over issues like government transparency and policy priorities.
For years, Greene has been one of Trump’s fiercest allies in Congress, rallying the base with her unfiltered style and unwavering support during his toughest moments.

But lately, cracks have appeared, culminating in this very public fallout. Let’s dive into what led to this dramatic split and how the MAGA faithful are responding—it’s a story that’s got everyone talking, from Capitol Hill to social media feeds.
The Breaking Point: Trump’s Scathing Post
It all came to a head on Friday when Trump took to his social media platform to make the announcement.
In a lengthy post, he didn’t hold back, listing his administration’s achievements while lambasting Greene for what he sees as constant complaining.
“I am withdrawing my support and Endorsement of ‘Congresswoman’ Marjorie Taylor Greene, of the Great State of Georgia,” Trump wrote.
“Over the past few weeks, despite my creating Record Achievements for our Country including, a Total and Complete Victory on the Shutdown, Closed Borders, Low Taxes, No Men in Women’s Sports or Transgender for Everyone, ending DEI, stopping Biden’s Record Setting Inflation, Biggest Regulation Cuts in History, stopping EIGHT WARS, rebuilding our Military, being RESPECTED by every Country in the World (as opposed to being the laughingstock that we were just 12 months ago!), having Trillions of Dollars (Record Setting!) INVESTED in the U.S.A., and having created the ‘HOTTEST’ Country anywhere in the World from being a DEAD Country just 12 months ago (and so much more!), all I see ‘Wacky’ Marjorie do is COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN!”
He went on to explain that the tension started when he shared a poll with her suggesting she wouldn’t fare well in a run for senator or governor without his backing.
Trump claimed Greene was upset about unanswered phone calls, but with his packed schedule—including dealing with Congress, the Senate, cabinet members, and international affairs—he couldn’t entertain her “every day.”
He even accused her of veering “Far Left,” pointing to her appearance on The View as evidence.
Trump wrapped up by encouraging potential challengers in Georgia, promising his “Complete and Unyielding Support” if the right candidate steps up.
It’s the kind of bold, no-holds-barred statement we’ve come to expect from Trump, but aimed at one of his own? That’s new territory.
Greene Fires Back: Faith, Files, and Frustration

Greene wasn’t about to take this lying down. Responding on X (formerly Twitter), she accused Trump of lying about her and suggested the real trigger was her push for releasing Jeffrey Epstein files.
“President Trump just attacked me and lied about me,” she posted.
“I haven’t called him at all, but I did send these text messages today. Apparently this is what sent him over the edge.
The Epstein files. And of course he’s coming after me hard to make an example to scare all the other Republicans before next weeks vote to release the Epstein files.”
She expressed astonishment at how fiercely Trump was fighting against the file release, contrasting it with what she sees as neglected domestic issues.
“It’s astonishing really how hard he’s fighting to stop the Epstein files from coming out that he actually goes to this level,” Greene continued.
“But really most Americans wish he would fight this hard to help the forgotten men and women of America who are fed up with foreign wars and foreign causes, are going broke trying to feed their families, and are losing hope of ever achieving the American dream.”
Greene emphasized her loyalty to Trump in the past, noting she’d invested her time and money to support him when others backed away.
But she made it clear her ultimate allegiance is elsewhere: “I don’t worship or serve Donald Trump. I worship God, Jesus is my savior, and I serve my district GA14 and the American people.”
She ended on a defiant note: “For me, I remain America First and America Only!!!”
This response shows Greene doubling down on her principles, framing the conflict as a battle over transparency and priorities rather than personal slights.
The Root Causes: From Epstein to Policy Clashes
At the heart of this feud is the ongoing debate over releasing unclassified records from the Jeffrey Epstein cases.
Greene has been a vocal advocate for disclosure, supporting a bipartisan effort to force the federal government to release all related files.
She told CBS Mornings, “I think it’s a huge miscalculation, and I truly just stand with the women,” referring to Epstein’s victims.
Trump, however, dismissed it as “the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax,” accusing Democrats of using it as a distraction.
He announced that the Justice Department under Attorney General Pam Bondi would investigate Epstein’s ties to Democrats instead.
Greene was one of only four Republicans who voted with Democrats to advance a petition for the file release.
But it’s not just Epstein. Greene has clashed with Trump on other fronts, like his proposal for 50-year mortgages to ease housing costs—she called it the wrong solution.
She’s criticized his tariff strategies as uneven and pushed for more focus on domestic issues like inflation and healthcare.
Earlier this year, she became the first GOP congressmember to label the Gaza situation as genocide, putting her at odds with party lines.
These disagreements paint a picture of a once-solid alliance fracturing over ideological differences and strategic directions.
MAGA’s Mixed Reactions: Support, Skepticism, and Speculation
The MAGA community is divided, with some rallying behind Trump and others standing by Greene. Here’s a roundup of key voices:
- Conservative commentator Catturd weighed in bluntly: “I’ll support any primary opponent of Marjorie Taylor Greene. Just like Trump, I’m sick of hearing her bullshit every day.”
- Activist Laura Loomer was jubilant, posting: “President Trump calls for Marjorie Traitor Greene to be primaried. He said he will endorse a challenger to MTG, and says she has become a ‘ranting lunatic’. Should I move to Georgia?” She added, “I told you all this was coming… @mtgreenee is so cooked.”
- Right-wing host Mark Levin fully endorsed the break: “Everyone’s on to Marjorie Traitor GreenE. POTUS just posted he’s withdrawing his endorsement and plans to support a primary challenger. (See below.) I agree 100%. She’s nuts.”
Those are quite the attacks on a Republican seeking transparency on horrible sex crimes within elite circles.
Not everyone’s on board, though. Right-wing commentator Evan Kilgore showed solidarity with Greene and another critic, Rep. Thomas Massie: “I stand with Thomas Massie and Marjorie Taylor Greene. Who else?”
These reactions underscore the potential for deeper divisions in the MAGA ranks—will this unify Trump’s loyalists or expose fault lines?
Why This Matters for the GOP’s Future
This split isn’t just personal; it could have ripple effects on the Republican Party as the 2026 midterms loom.
Trump initially promised the American people full disclosure of the Epstein files, winning votes that would have otherwise voted Democrat.
Now the political fallout feels real.
Greene’s district in Georgia is solidly conservative, but a Trump-backed primary challenge could turn it into a battleground.
More broadly, it signals possible shifts in alliances and priorities, especially on hot-button issues like foreign policy and transparency.
All eyes are on the upcoming House vote to release the Epstein files, backed by Greene and set to come to the floor thanks to Speaker Mike Johnson.
How Republicans vote could either heal or widen this rift.
In the meantime, the drama is far from over—stay tuned as more reactions pour in and the political landscape evolves.
