- Newly unsealed 8,000+ pages show Epstein cultivated enduring ties with Hollywood, politics, and finance, maintaining contacts up to his 2019 arrest.
- Calendars and flight logs detail frequent meetings with high-profile figures—raising questions about networking, influence, and blurred ethical boundaries.
In a stunning revelation from over 8,000 pages of recently unsealed documents by Congress, the late financier Jeffrey Epstein’s connections to some of the world’s most prominent figures were far more extensive and enduring than previously admitted.
These records—spanning calendars, daily schedules, and flight manifests—paint a picture of a man who skillfully wove himself into the fabric of elite society, maintaining relationships that persisted right up until his 2019 arrest on federal sex trafficking charges.
While Epstein’s criminal activities have dominated headlines since his 2008 plea deal in Florida, which many criticized as overly lenient, the documents highlight the multifaceted nature of his life.

Beyond his illicit dealings, Epstein engaged in philanthropy, complex financial maneuvers, and relentless networking, drawing in a diverse array of suitors from Hollywood, Wall Street, politics, and beyond.
CBS News’ review of these materials uncovers interactions that continued amid mounting allegations, raising questions about the boundaries between professional opportunism and personal association.
Woody Allen’s Frequent Companionship: A Cinematic Bond That Spanned Years
At the heart of Epstein’s social circle was acclaimed filmmaker Woody Allen, whose relationship with the disgraced financier appears far more intertwined than Allen has publicly acknowledged.
The documents detail nearly 100 scheduled meetings or outings between 2014 and 2019, often including Allen’s wife, Soon-Yi Previn.

Epstein’s calendars show the trio attending film screenings at the Manhattan Film Center on Park Avenue, where Epstein would join Allen for editing sessions or private viewings.
Travel logs indicate at least nine joint trips, including visits to Epstein’s sprawling ranch in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and his Palm Beach, Florida, residence.
One notable entry on March 26, 2014, schedules a trip with Allen on the same day Epstein was due to update his sex offender registry photo—a stark juxtaposition of his dual worlds.
Allen’s spokesperson told the Wall Street Journal in 2023 that Allen “never had a business meeting with Epstein and not once spent time with him without Soon-Yi also being present.”
When approached by CBS News regarding the latest 2019 calendar entries, the spokesperson declined to comment.
The records also note Epstein receiving film editing lessons from Allen and joint excursions, such as a planned visit to artist Jeff Koons’ studio in New Jersey (which Koons says never happened).
Epstein even visited Allen’s film sets in New York and Rhode Island.
Their gatherings extended to holidays, with a Valentine’s Day dinner in Paris one year and a final meal on May 9, 2019—featuring guests like former Obama White House counsel Kathryn Ruemmler—just two months before Epstein’s arrest at Teterboro Airport.
No allegations suggest Allen or Previn were aware of or involved in Epstein’s wrongdoing.
In past interviews, Allen has stated that Epstein always appeared with girlfriends, whom he did not perceive as underage.
However, a source familiar with the flight logs informed CBS News that some trips with the Allens included names of known victims (redacted in released documents), who often traveled with Epstein.
From White House Insiders to Billionaire Executives
Epstein’s networking prowess extended into the realms of politics and high finance, where he facilitated connections that benefited his associates.
Among the notable figures was Kathryn Ruemmler, who served as White House counsel under President Barack Obama and now holds the position of chief legal officer and general counsel at Goldman Sachs.
The calendars list over 50 meetings involving Ruemmler, spanning professional and social contexts.
These included trips to Paris and St. Lucia, as well as gatherings with influential individuals like tech mogul Peter Thiel, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, former Sen. Bob Kerrey, and former Trump White House chief strategist Steve Bannon.

One entry from February 16, 2018, references Ruemmler and a “glam squad” appointment at her New York apartment, though the purpose remains unclear.
Another, dated April 5, 2019, schedules a meeting with Ruemmler, Bannon, and Woody Allen.
Ruemmler has expressed regret over her association, stating, “I regret ever knowing Jeffrey Epstein.”
A Goldman Sachs spokesperson clarified to CBS News: “As we’ve said before, and has been repeatedly reported, Ms. Ruemmler had a professional relationship with Mr. Epstein when she was the global chair of the white collar defense and investigations practice at Latham & Watkins. He referred business to her and they shared a common client that originated as an Epstein referral.”
The spokesperson denied Ruemmler ever flew with Epstein.
Political figures also feature prominently.
The late New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson appears in entries through September 19, 2016, including dinners and trips to Epstein’s New Mexico ranch.
A 2011 helicopter log shows Richardson, his chief of staff Brian Condit, Epstein, and three alleged victims traveling from the British Virgin Islands to the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Condit told CBS News the flight originated from Richard Branson’s island and did not involve Epstein’s private property, adding he doesn’t recall other passengers.
Richardson passed away in 2023 at age 75.
Other business heavyweights include Hyatt executive chairman Tom Pritzker (28 scheduled meetings from 2013 to 2018), billionaire investor Leon Black, banker Ariane de Rothschild, and Starwood Hotels president Barry Sternlicht (who denied attending beyond one group dinner via a spokesperson).
Bannon’s multiple entries lack specified purposes, but he has claimed they involved filming interviews for a potential documentary.
A source close to Epstein described his late-life eagerness to rehabilitate his image.
Even in April 2019, mere months before his arrest, Epstein’s schedule brimmed with high-profile appointments, including Ruemmler, Bannon, investment banker Robert Kuhn, and self-help author Deepak Chopra.
Medical Fascination and Key Collaborators
Epstein’s documents reveal a profound interest in medicine, science, and extending human life—both personally and as a business venture.
As early as 2012, he planned a gene-sequencing company.
Prominent in this arena was Deepak Chopra, the integrative medicine advocate, who appears at least a dozen times in 2016, 2017, and 2019 calendars.
Their interactions included one-on-one meetings, such as a November 2016 session in Paris, and group events like a Skeptic Magazine anniversary panel and a dinner with Woody Allen.
Chopra provided a statement to CBS News:
“Jeffrey Epstein was introduced to me by Barnaby Marsh, former CEO of the Templeton Foundation, as someone who could potentially fund research on the brain and consciousness. After meeting, he shared he suffered from insomnia and expressed interest in learning meditation, which I taught him…
Our meetings, focused solely on practicing meditation, lasted about 30 minutes each. At my suggestion, he also visited Dr. V.S. Ramachandran’s lab at [the University of California San Diego] to learn about ongoing brain research. While several of these institutions had received some funding from him, no projects were ever initiated as a result of our interactions. He later introduced me to Joichi Ito at the MIT Media Lab in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Ultimately, no research project was ever pursued.”
Epstein’s insomnia is corroborated by jail records, which note his use of a CPAP machine shortly before his death.
Another recurring figure was longevity expert Dr. Peter Attia, whose meetings suggest a doctor-patient dynamic, including blood draws and follow-ups.
Attia was also slated for a business meeting with a medical entrepreneur and a Harvard Corporation investor.
Attia has been contacted for comment but has not responded publicly.
As scrutiny intensifies, the documents serve as a sobering reminder of the blurred lines in high society, where opportunity often overshadows caution.
