- Alleged 2011 email shows Prince Andrew telling Jeffrey Epstein, "We are in this together," contradicting his claim to have cut contact in 2010.
- Email was sent days after a notorious photo of Andrew with Virginia Giuffre and Ghislaine Maxwell resurfaced, deepening scrutiny of his ties to Epstein.
- Additional emails link Sarah Ferguson to Epstein; Giuffre's posthumous memoir may further illuminate allegations and royal accountability.
In a stunning development that reignites scrutiny over Prince Andrew’s ties to Jeffrey Epstein, a newly uncovered email from 2011 allegedly shows the Duke of York telling the disgraced financier, “We are in this together.”
The message, revealed by U.K. publications The Mail on Sunday and The Sun on Sunday on October 12, 2025, was reportedly sent on February 28, 2011—just one day after the release of a notorious photograph depicting Andrew with his arm around Virginia Giuffre, alongside Ghislaine Maxwell.
The email, which expresses Andrew’s “concern” for Epstein, appears to contradict the royal’s previous statements.
In a 2019 BBC Newsnight interview, Andrew, now 65 and brother to King Charles, claimed he had severed all contact with Epstein after a December 2010 visit to New York, where the pair were photographed strolling in Central Park.

That trip, he insisted, was solely to end their association in person.
However, this correspondence suggests ongoing communication well into 2011—12 weeks after the supposed cutoff.
Key Details from the Alleged Email
- Content of the Message: According to the reports, Andrew wrote, “I’m just as concerned for you! Don’t worry about me! It would seem we are in this together and will have to rise above it.” He reportedly added, “Otherwise, keep in close touch, and we’ll play some more soon!!!!” before signing off as “A, HRH The Duke of York, KG”—referencing his knighthood in the Order of the Garter.
- Timing and Context: The email followed the February 2011 publication of the infamous photo by The Mail on Sunday, which showed Andrew at what was described as Maxwell’s London mews house with Giuffre (then known as Virginia Roberts). Giuffre, who tragically died by suicide in April 2025, had accused Epstein of trafficking her to Andrew for sex on three occasions when she was 17. Andrew has vehemently denied these allegations and settled a 2022 lawsuit brought by Giuffre for a reported $13 million without admitting wrongdoing.
- Epstein’s Background: Epstein was convicted in Florida in June 2008 on charges of soliciting a minor for prostitution and soliciting prostitution. He died in jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.

The photograph has long haunted Andrew.
In his BBC interview, he questioned its legitimacy, claiming no memory of it being taken and suggesting it might have been altered—pointing to details like his “traveling clothes” and the positioning of his hand on Giuffre’s side.
“I don’t remember that photograph ever being taken,” he told interviewer Emily Maitlis.
“I am not entirely convinced that… that is what I would describe as me in that… in that picture but I can’t… we can’t be certain as to whether or not that’s my hand on her whatever it is, left… left side.”
This latest email adds to a growing pile of evidence highlighting the depth of Andrew’s relationship with Epstein, despite public denials.
Additional Revelations
The scandal extends to Andrew’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson (known as Fergie), with another email surfacing just weeks earlier.
Published by the same U.K. outlets on September 20, 2025, it shows Ferguson describing Epstein as a “steadfast, generous and supreme friend to me and my family” in 2011—after she had publicly regretted accepting money from him and vowed no further contact.
Following the disclosure, several charities severed ties with her.
A spokesperson for Ferguson told media outlets that she had been “taken in by his lies” and condemned Epstein upon learning the full extent of the allegations.
The statement emphasized her regret and noted that the email was sent amid efforts to mitigate Epstein’s threats of defamation lawsuits.
“Her first thoughts are with his victims,” the rep added.
Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson attending the Duchess of Kent’s funeral at Westminster Cathedral on September 16, 2025.
Andrew and Ferguson were recently seen together at the funeral of Katharine, Duchess of Kent, on September 16, 2025, at Westminster Cathedral in London.
The Duchess, married to Prince Edward, Duke of Kent (a first cousin of Queen Elizabeth II), passed away on September 4, 2025, at age 92.
Her funeral marked the first Catholic service for a royal family member in modern British history.
What’s Next
These emails come as Giuffre’s posthumous memoir, Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice, is slated for release later in October 2025.
The book could shed further light on her experiences and allegations.
Representatives for Prince Andrew have been contacted for comment on the latest email revelations, but no response has been reported as of yet.
This ongoing saga continues to cast a shadow over the British royal family, raising questions about accountability and the true extent of Andrew’s involvement with Epstein’s circle.
